Borve Maritime Museum Opens for Second Year

A Maritime Museum in Borve has been a mission for Donnie Graham for over a decade when he started to become a serious collector of maritime artefacts. Last year, he held his first large-scale pop-up exhibition of this collection, and his rope work at The Clan MacQuarrie Community Centre. For 2026 the exhibition has increased to include sections on WWI and WWII – models of battleships,  artefacts from them and stories about the Hebrideans who were part of the crew can all be explored. 
The collection currently on temporary display in The Clan MacQuarrie Community Centre (and available to visit until 6pm this Saturday 25th July) provides an insight into the rich maritime heritage of the Outer Hebrides and importantly, is another step towards the development of the old Borve Hall, purchased by Donnie in 2023 for renovating into a Museum.
